Welcome back for Honduran Chevening Scholars
The British Ambassador, Nick Whittingham, welcomed back Honduran Chevening Scholars who successfully completed their Masters programme at UK universities.
Six Honduran scholars, three from the 2021-22 academic year and three from the 2020-21 cohort, studied a Masters’ degree at a range of UK universities.
The Embassy congratulated the awardees on the successful completion of their studies and for being worthy ambassadors for Honduras during their time in the UK.
The Chevening award is the UK government’s global scholarship programme offered by the UK’s Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office in collaboration with partner organisations. Since 1983, Chevening has helped to build bridges with more than 160 different countries and territories, supporting the education and development of future leaders, influencers, and decision-makers across the world.
The returning scholars are:
- Magdiel Francisco Aranda Linares, Programme and Project Management at the University of Warwick
- Allan Hernandez Cotto, Mechatronics at University of Glasgow
- Sonia Medina, Interior Design at University of East London
- Johan David Reyes Chavez, Conservation Management at Edge Hill University
- Julia Estela Sandoval Handal, Masters of Law at King’s College London
- Juan Camilo Jimenez Garces, Humanitarian and Conflict Response at University of Manchester
Chevening has promoted economic development and better business environments worldwide by funding scholars who have gone on to build companies, become directors, and hold senior positions in global organisations.
