Who wins? The community has decided
19 Community Choices winners from across Cumbria will share £580,000 to invest in projects in their local community.
The winners have been revealed in the inaugural Community Choices campaign.
19 organisations from across Cumbria will share £580,000 to invest in projects in their local community.
Sellafield Ltd launched the scheme in partnership with Cumbria Community Foundation, CN Group and CFM in January.
Its aim is to let the public decide where community funding should be spent.
In total, 43 organisations working in Allerdale and Copeland were shortlisted for the chance to win up to £50,000.
Thousands of votes were cast before the polls closed on 26 March.
Helen Fisher, head of social impact at Sellafield Ltd, said:
I’d like to thank everyone who took the time to nominate their project and everyone who voted.
The interest this has generated in community projects has been fantastic.
Congratulations to all of the winners who will all make a huge contribution to their local communities.
Community Choices is all about local people taking the future of their area into their own hands.
