Equality and diversity

As a public body, we publish regular information about what our equality and diversity objectives are and how we're meeting them.

Equality and diversity

The Insolvency Service is committed to providing services which embrace diversity and that promote equality of opportunity.

As an employer, the Insolvency Service is committed to the Civil Service ambition to become the UK’s most inclusive employer and we will continue to:

  • build an inclusive environment, where colleagues thrive
  • attract, engage, and retain individuals from a range of diverse characteristics and socio-economic backgrounds.
  • build capability to meet all changing developments.
  • focus on accessibility for all.

Our goal is to ensure that these commitments, reinforced by our values, are embedded in our day-to-day working practices with all our customers, colleagues and partners.

As an inclusive employer we will not tolerate discrimination. Our HR policies are fully inclusive of all staff regardless of age, disability, sex, gender reassignment, marriage or civil partnership, pregnancy or maternity, race, religion or belief or sexual orientation.

Disability Confident Leader

Disability Confident

The Insolvency Service is recognised as being Disability Confident Leader. This assessment demonstrates our commitment to attracting, recruiting and retaining disabled people, and supporting them in the workplace to achieve their full potential.

Helping our users access our services

We are committed to ensuring that all users are able to access our services.

The Insolvency Service is committed to making our documents accessible and we have an Accessible documents policy. Any of our documents can be requested in alternative formats.

For users who are unable to complete our online applications (for example, redundancy and bankruptcy) we have a process in place to allow users to complete the application by phone.
