NMO Steering Board

The role of the steering board is to provide formal strategic planning, priorities, objectives and targets and new ways of working.

The board’s responsibilities include:

  • advising on the agency’s strategy
  • setting out its allocation of resources
  • agreeing business plans and monitoring the agency’s performance
  • highlighting risks and issues that could threaten the agency’s strategy or business plans
  • establishing agency capability and plans for the future

NMO Management Board

The management board provides corporate leadership and makes day-to-day decisions about running NMO. The board also produces the agency’s long-term business strategy to meet the needs of the stakeholders.

The board’s responsibilities include:

  • financial management
  • communication
  • project management
  • IT
  • property
  • setting standards, values and controls within the agency

NMO Audit Committee

The audit committee advises the NMO steering board. Its main function is to ensure accountability for public funds by improving and encouraging financial reporting and discipline.

The committee’s role is to support the chief executive in his role as accounting officer by:

  • overseeing the work of the internal and external auditors
  • making recommendations to the steering board and reviewing the annual financial statements before submission to the steering board
