NDA Framework Document

The Framework Document was drawn up by the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) and the Scottish Government in consultation with the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA).

It sets out the broad governance and management framework within which the NDA will operate and the relationship between the NDA and Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) and the Scottish Government which has responsibility in respect of the role of the Scottish ministers.

Energy Act 2004

Designations

Under the 2004 Energy Act, directions are the method by which the Secretary of State gives the NDA responsibility to carry out its principal function. The directions identify what the NDA is to be responsible for and what it has to do in respect of the designated site for which the direction refer:
