About us
The Office for Local Government (Oflog) will help make local government even better. We will increase understanding about the performance of local authorities, warn when authorities are at risk of serious failure, and support local government to improve itself.
What we do
The Office for Local Government (Oflog) will help make local government even better.
We will increase understanding about the performance of local authorities, warn when authorities are at risk of serious failure, and support local government to improve itself.
We have three strategic objectives:
-
Inform: increase understanding - among citizens, civil society, central government and local government itself - about data on the performance of local authorities
-
Warn: help identify local authorities that are at risk of failure but have not raised the alarm themselves
-
Support: support local government to improve performance, productivity, and value for money: championing best practice, improving data capability and rationalising a complex data landscape
In doing all of these, we work in close partnership with local authorities.
For further details of our work, Oflog published the draft Oflog Corporate Plan for consultation which has now closed.
Local Authority Data Explorer
The Local Authority Data Explorer gives an overview of local government performance. We are gradually expanding and improving it.
