Prescription Pricing Authority

The main functions of the Authority were to to calculate and make payments for amounts due to pharmacists and appliance contractors, and calculate amounts due to general practitioners, for supplying drugs and appliances prescribed under the NHS. The Authority was abolished in 2006 with functions transferring to the NHS Business Services Authority.
