Rotavirus immunisation programme for infants
This series collates all documents relating to Rotavirus vaccination programme for infants
A vaccine for infants against the most common strains of rotavirus was introduced into the childhood immunisation schedule in July 2013.
Prior to the introduction of the vaccination programme, rotavirus was the most common cause of gastroenteritis among children and resulted in a significant number of young children being admitted to hospital each year. The vaccine used for this programme is called Rotarix®
