The Service Complaints Ombudsman provides independent and impartial scrutiny of the handling of service complaints made by members of the UK armed forces.
Like the previous Service Complaints Commissioner, the Service Complaints Ombudsman’s functions are to:
· oversee and report on the operation of the Service complaints system
· act as an alternative point of contact for members of the UK armed forces who intend to make a service complaint, but who do not wish to approach their chain of command directly
