The UK Atomic Energy Authority is a non-departmental public body under the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero, established under the Atomic Energy Act 1954.

The UKAEA Board
The UKAEA Board’s principal role is to oversee the strategic aims and objectives of UKAEA and to ensure that effective arrangements are in place to provide assurance on risk management, governance, and internal control. The Board meets 5-7 times per year, with three sub-committees including the Audit and Risk Assurance sub-committee, the People and Remuneration sub-committee, and the Property and Campus sub-committee.
