Personal information charter
Find out more about the personal information the UK NSC collects, uses and sometimes shares to do its job, along with how this is protected and your rights.
We may process your personal information when you interact with UK National Screening Committee (UK NSC) services. This includes:
- when you become a subscriber
- when register as a stakeholder
- when you submit responses to our consultations
This notice sets out how we will use your personal data when subscribing or registering, and your rights. It is made under Articles 13 and/or 14 of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Please note we have a separate privacy notice for consultation respondents.
Your data
Purpose
The purpose for which we are processing your personal data when subscribing or registering is to operate and manage a mailing list and newsletter about UK NSC activities.
The data
If you a subscriber to our service, we will only process your email address. If you are registering as a UK NSC stakeholder, we will also process your name, job title, organisation and any other data you choose to share with us to help your organisation interact with our services.
Legal basis of processing
The legal basis for processing your personal data is that it is necessary for the performance of a task carried out in the public interest or in the exercise of official authority vested in the data controller.
In this case the processing enables us to keep you up to date about UK NSC topics of interest and to let you know how you can get involved.
Recipients
As your personal data will be stored on our own IT infrastructure, it will be shared with our data processors who provide email, document management and storage services.
Your personal data will not be shared with any other services.
Retention
Your personal data will be kept by us as long as the UK NSC continues to exist, or until you opt out of our mailing service.
Your rights
You have the right to object to the processing of your personal data.
You have the right to request information about how your personal data are processed, and to request a copy of that personal data.
You have the right to request that any inaccuracies in your personal data are rectified without delay.
You have the right to request that any incomplete personal data are completed, including by means of a supplementary statement.
You may have the right to request that your personal data are erased if there is no longer a justification for them to be processed.
You have the right in certain circumstances (for example, where accuracy is contested) to request that the processing of your personal data is restricted.
