Adam Sambrook

Biography
Adam Sambrook is the Deputy High Commissioner to the Republic of Cyprus. He assumed his role in February 2025.
Adam has previously served in Tel Aviv as Second Secretary Political, Deputy Head of Mission in Bucharest, and Political Counsellor in Baghdad. He also held a variety of roles in London including roles focused on Europe, the Middle East and climate change. He has specialised in security policy and strategic affairs, covering issues from European defence to strategic threats.
Adam joined the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) in 2001, and is a graduate in philosophy from King’s College, Cambridge University.

The Deputy High Commissioner or Deputy Ambassador is a senior diplomat and typically a key advisor to the High Commissioner or Ambassador. The Deputy is responsible for the daily management of an overseas High Commission or Embassy. They will represent the UK’s interests in the absence of the Ambassador, as Chargé d’Affaires.
