Alison Currie
Biography
Alison Currie joined the Department for International Trade as Director of Finance and Corporate Services in September 2016, after being recruited to UKTI as Managing Director of Corporate Services and Finance in August 2016.
She has a variety of experience in public and private sector and most recently was Group Director of Finance and Estates at NCG (formerly Newcastle College Group).
Previously she was Finance Director and a member of the Board at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (2010-2012) and had several roles at the Department for Constitutional Affairs/Ministry of Justice – most recently Acting Director of Financial Performance.
After qualifying as a CIMA Accountant with Bass North, Alison spent 18 years in a variety of finance and planning roles in Financial Services organisations including:
- Midland International/HSBC
- SLC Asset Management
- CDC/Actis Capital private equity
Alison holds an MBA from Warwick Business School, a post graduate certificate in International Development Management and is PRINCE 2 qualified. Additionally, she has also gained Non executive experience as a Trustee of two development charities.
