Amy Quantrill
Biography
Amy took up the role of Resident British Commissioner in October 2024. She was previously posted to the UK Mission to the United Nations, New York, where she served as Spokesperson and led on the Western Balkans portfolio. While in New York she also served the President of the General Assembly as Lead Speechwriter during the 75th session. Her last assignment in the UK was in the multilateral department and she was also Private Secretary to the Ministers for the Middle East and Asia. Prior to joining the FCDO, Amy worked as a Petroleum Engineer in Algeria and Azerbaijan. She holds a degree in Chemical Engineering (Imperial College, London).
Resident British Commissioner to St Lucia
Deputy Head of Mission is a senior diplomat and typically a key advisor to the Ambassador or High Commissioner. The Deputy is responsible for the daily management of an overseas Embassy or High Commission. They will represent the UK’s interests in the absence of the Ambassador as Chargé d’Affaires. A senior ranking Deputy may also take the title Minister.
