Chris Prevett

Biography

Chris Prevett was appointed as Interim General Counsel at the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) on 26 July 2022. As a member of the senior executive team and an important adviser to the board, Chris leads in the provision of legal advice across the CMA’s functions.

Previous career highlights include:

  • Senior Legal Director of Mergers, Markets and Sector Regulation at the CMA, responsible for overseeing legal advice across the portfolio
  • Legal Director and Project Director at the CMA
  • Senior lawyer in private practice with Travers Smith LLP and Slaughter and May, where he advised across a wide range of EU and UK merger and antitrust issues
  • Working on secondment at the Office of Fair Trading
