Clare Brodie
Biography
Clare Brodie joined the TRA as our General Counsel in 2018 and was appointed an executive director of the Board in June 2021. Since 2018, she has been establishing and developing the legal function and her team provide legal advice and support on our trade remedy investigations and other legal matters within the TRA.
Clare has over 25 years’ experience in economic policy and law. She started her career as a competition lawyer in private practice and then worked at the Competition Commission (forerunner to CMA) on merger and market investigations. Clare moved into central government and worked at BEIS and DECC (now DBT) dealing with wider EU and economic policy matters including energy efficiency and green energy support schemes. She then moved into Cabinet Office and led a team dealing with EU litigation and other Brexit issues.
