Daniel Lambauer

Biography

Daniel was appointed Chief Operating Officer of the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) on 30 September 2024.

Daniel is a member of the Senior Executive team and the Board. As the Chief Operating Officer at the CMA, he is responsible for overseeing a range of teams in the Corporate Services directorate and works closely with the Chief Executive to provide organisational leadership and ensure the organisation achieves its strategic objectives.

Daniel is also an external member of the Audit Committee of the Office of the Comptroller and Auditor General of Ireland.

Previously Daniel was the National Audit Office’s (NAO) Executive Director of Strategy and Resources. He was also the NAO’s Chief Information Officer and Senior Information Responsible Owner (SIRO). Daniel has also worked in a range of sectors, including academia, management consultancy and the civil service.

Chief Operating Officer

The Chief Operating Officer at the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) is responsible for a range of professional disciplines in the Corporate Services directorate and for:

  • working with the Chief Executive to deliver cross-organisational capability to ensure the CMA achieves its strategic objectives
  • developing the CMA’s business services
  • providing organisational leadership across a range of functions to ensure that the Corporate Services directorate provides a first class service in a demanding and high-profile environment
