David Brooks

Biography

David Brooks has been appointed as a non-executive director of the Coal Authority and the chair of its HR and Remuneration Committee (retitled the People and Remuneration Committee from 1 April 2023) from 1 April 2022 to 31 March 2025.

David has been pursuing a non-executive career since 2009. He currently works with Futures Housing Group, a 10,000-home housing association based in the East Midlands, Seafish, a non-departmental public body sponsored by the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, which is responsible for supporting a thriving fish and seafood industry in the UK, and North Hampshire Urgent Care, which offers out-of-hours primary care support to the northern half of Hampshire and parts of Surrey, as well as some mental health early intervention services.

Previously he held senior executive roles within the food industry, including the flotation of Finsbury Food Group plc, where he held the role of group chief executive.

Chair: People and Remuneration Committee

The chair leads the People and Remuneration Committee in making sure the Coal Authority always has employees with the necessary skills and knowledge. This post also leads on the work undertaken in England by the Coal Authority.
