David Michael Jones
Biography
Mr. David Jones joined the FCDO in 2006. He has been British Consul General Montreal since August 2024. His last role was Senior Adviser in the Cabinet Office, focusing on cyber and related national security issues. His previous postings included two Deputy High Commissioner roles, first in Seychelles where he led a cross-government team to support international efforts to combat Somali-based piracy before moving to Fiji in 2016. He also worked as Consul (Political) in the British Consulate General in Jerusalem and did a secondment to the Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs to assist on Africa and Middle East EU policy development. He previously worked within the Middle East Peace Process team in London, before moving to work within a cross-government team supporting Afghanistan’s counter narcotics efforts. Mr Jones and his wife have a son and two daughters.
