Eleanor Cozens

Biography

Before retiring in 2020, Eleanor Cozens worked in market research and then in international development, where she led or supported programmes for international charities in the UK and abroad.

Her work included developing programme policies relating to eye health and disability and inclusion and the evaluation of health system strengthening initiatives abroad and introduction of new eye health programmes.

This has given Eleanor considerable experience in exploring and understanding different stakeholders’ perspectives, particularly patients and community members.

Eleanor was an active member of the British Medical Association’s patient liaison group from 2009 to 2014 and has been a carer and patient advocate for a family member.

She enjoys using her professional and personal experiences as an NHS user to contribute general patient and public perspectives to the UK NSC’s processes.
