Biography
Elizabeth Tanya Masiyiwa is a Commonwealth Scholarship Commissioner. Elizabeth is a social entrepreneur and smart tech executive. She is the President and CEO of Delta Philanthropies, Higherlife Foundation, and Akello that all support education and learning initiatives for students in Africa.
Elizabeth serves on the board of several charities and foundations, including Harvard University’s Leadership Council for the Centre of Africa Studies. She also advises several entrepreneurship and philanthropy networks.
Commonwealth Scholarship Commissioner
Commonwealth Scholarship Commissioners are responsible for:
- ensuring that the CSC fulfils the aims and objectives set by FCDO
- promoting the efficient and effective use of staff and other resources by the CSC
- ensuring that individuals are selected for Commonwealth Scholarships and Fellowships on merit and on the basis of clear criteria which reflect the objectives of FCDO and, where appropriate, other sponsoring departments
