Gillian Brydie
Biography
After graduating from the University of Newcastle (1997), Gillian joined Bank of Scotland where she spent the first 7 years of her now 25 year career in Financial Services. She progressed from the graduate programme into the Wealth Management division where she held a number of roles from customer relationship management to central programme management.
Gillian has spent the last 18 years at RBS/NatWest. Joining RBS saw her move into the HR/People team gaining experience in reward, business partnering, executive recruitment, HR consultancy (including headcount reduction), corporate governance and people transformation programmes.
She has experience in partnering key stakeholders at Executive level on all people related matters to deliver people strategies thereby enabling business delivery. Most recently she was responsible for leading the delivery of a multi-year HR transformation programme, redefining the HR operating model and future capabilities through the stand up of end-to-end colleague journeys to support business strategy and enable the continued enhancement of colleague experience for the 60,000 colleagues at NatWest. She joins SLC as Executive Director of People in July 2023.

The Executive Director, People is responsible for leading SLC’s People directorate and developing it’s People Strategy which aims to ensure that SLC is a great place to work.
