Jan Bauer
Biography
Jan Bauer took up her posting as Consul (Government and Prosperity) at the UK Government Office in Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minnesota (MN) in December 2016. She served previously as an International Trade consultant with the Small Business Development Center at Florida State University, and an adjunct faculty, teaching International Management, Concordia University St. Paul MN.
Immediately prior to that role, Jan worked as Director of the Small Business Development and International Trade Center at the College of Lake County, Grayslake, Illinois. There she earned the 2013 SBDC Center of Excellence and Innovation award from the Small Business Administration (SBA), and was recognised by the YWCA for Woman of Achievement in Business. Jan began her international career with opportunities to live and study in Aalborg Denmark, Nevers, France and Seregno Italy.
Jan holds a BA in International Relations from St. Cloud State University and an MBA from Walden University. She is a Certified Global Business Professional (CGBP) through NASBITE International, certified Export and Trade Counselor through the SBA, and Certified Business Advisor through the Illinois Small Business Economic Growth Association.
