Janette McCormick QPM

Biography

Janette has been a strategic leader in policing for over 30 years up to the rank of Chief Constable. She subsequently became a senior police advisor on workforce transformation for the College of Policing and Director of Standards, until being appointed as Programme Director for the Police Uplift Programme in 2019 working with the Home Office to deliver significant workforce growth. She is currently the strategic workforce lead for National Police Chiefs Council.

She is a Non-Executive Director on the Ministry of Defence Service Justice System Board and Executive Group, which has oversight of the military police and Court Marshall processes. She also sits on the Teaching Regulation Agency Prohibitions Panels under the Department of Education.

She was awarded the Queens Police Medal in 2016 for services to policing.

The Member of the Review Body on Doctors’ and Dentists’ Remuneration is independent. Its role is to make recommendations to the Prime Minister, the Secretary of State for Health, the First Minister and the Cabinet Secretary for Health and Wellbeing of the Scottish Parliament, the First Minister and the Minister for Health and Social Services in the Welsh Assembly Government and the First Minister, Deputy First Minister and Minister for Health, Social Services and Public Safety of the Northern Ireland Executive on the remuneration of doctors and dentists taking any part in the National Health Service.
