Jennifer Stockill
Biography
Jennifer Stockill has been the British Deputy High Commissioner to Rwanda since 1st July 2024.
Jennifer joined the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office in 2012, and her career has focused on the Middle East and East Africa. Her overseas postings include Ethiopia Humanitarian Team Leader (2021-2024), Advisor to the Executive Directors at the World Bank and IMF (2017 -2020), and UK Coordinator in Burundi (2016-2017).
Jennifer holds degrees from the University of Oxford, University of Cambridge, and the College of Europe.
Deputy High Commissioner, British High Commission Kigali
The Deputy High Commissioner is a senior diplomat and typically an important advisor to the Ambassador or High Commissioner. The Deputy is responsible for the daily management of an overseas Embassy or High Commission. They will represent the UK’s interests in the absence of the Ambassador as Chargé d’Affaires. A senior ranking Deputy may also take the title minister. Smaller missions may not have a Deputy Head.
