Jerome Glass

Biography

Jerome has been Director General for the Ministry of Justice’s Policy and Strategy Group since November 2020 and was appointed to the post permanently in August 2021. Jerome first joined the MOJ in 2016, and has served as Principal Private Secretary to the Lord Chancellor, Director of Strategy and Director of Prison Policy.

Prior to joining the Ministry of Justice, Jerome worked at the Department of Energy and Climate Change, leading on domestic climate change strategy. His career includes stints in finance and operations at the BBC, and in investment banking at Lazard & Co.

Director General - Courts and Access to Justice, International Justice and Legal

In his current role, Jerome is responsible for the department’s policy work alongside the Director General for Prisons, Offenders and Analysis, Ross Gribbin. Together they support the Permanent Secretary in her role as principal policy advisor and work closely with the MOJ’s agencies and other justice partners to deliver our outcomes. Jerome’s policy portfolio encompasses:
