Joanne Olivier

Biography
Joanne Olivier was appointed His Majesty’s Ambassador to the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg on 23 April 2025, after presenting her credentials to HRH Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume.
Joanne has served in a wide range of roles in the FCDO since 2009. She was most recently the Deputy Head of Mediterranean Department from 2022 until 2025. Overseas, she has served in Pretoria and Paris. In London she has served in the Defence and Strategic Threats Directorate, as a Middle East Policy Planner and as Head of Ukraine Team. Prior to joining the FCDO, Joanne had a career as a lawyer, including as a practicing barrister in London.

The Ambassador represents His Majesty The King and the UK government in the country to which they are appointed. They are responsible for the direction and work of the Embassy and its Consulates, including political work, trade and investment, press and cultural relations and consular services.
