John Henderson CB
Biography
John Henderson was the Chief Executive of Staffordshire County Council for over eight years, during which time he worked to improve the delivery of public services for the county’s residents.
Prior to this, he served for 33 years in the British Army, starting as a mechanical engineer on Chieftain tanks, and finishing as the General Officer Commanding British Forces Germany. During his time in the Army he led soldiers on operations in Bosnia, Iraq and Afghanistan.
John Henderson was appointed as an Independent Member of the Committee on Standards in Public Life on 26 February 2024 for a five-year term.
