Julia Draycon

Biography

Julia Draycon joined the Mining Remediation Authority as Community and Emergency Response Director in November 2021.

Prior to Julia’s appointment she gained 20 years’ experience of working in resilience leadership roles, working with emergency services, local authorities, health organisations, utility companies, voluntary agencies and others partners, to plan for and respond to civil emergencies and business continuity incidents.

Environment Director

The Environment Director is responsible for:

  • strategic leadership across our technical and environment operations, preventing pollution of rivers and drinking aquifers from the effects of historical mining
  • ensuring our organisational resilience from public safety, environmental and business continuity incidents
  • leadership of our sustainability work including net zero goals, climate change adaptation, nature recovery and enabling social value
  • providing strategic input in to the Mining Remediation Authority’s executive leadership team, supporting the organisation’s delivery in line with its values
