Julia Draycon

Biography

Julia Draycon joined the Coal Authority as Community and Emergency Response Director in November 2021.

Prior to Julia’s appointment she gained 20 years’ experience of working in emergency preparedness and response. The focus of her work was coordinating the activities of the emergency services, local authorities, health organisations, utility companies, voluntary agencies and others partners, to plan for and respond to, major incidents.

During that time, Julia was involved in the response to a wide range of civil emergencies, including the COVID-19 pandemic, the Potters Bar rail crash and the Buncefield oil terminal explosions.
