Karen Heaton
Biography
Karen Heaton has held the position of Director of Human Resources at the University of Manchester since September 2006. The University is one of the largest in the UK with a turnover in excess of £800 million , employs 11,500 staff and has an ambitious strategy to be one of the leading University’s in the world by 2020.Karen is responsible for developing and implementing the University’s People Strategy to contribute to its strategic ambitions. She is a seasoned senior HR professional with Board level experience and has worked across both the not for profit and private sectors successfully implementing People Strategies which are aligned to and contribute to the overall development, performance and achievement of the organisation . She is currently a member of the CBI’s Employment policy Advisory Panel and is a Non Executive Director of City South Housing Trust where she is also Chair of the Remuneration Committee and Vice Chair of the Finance , Legal and organisational Development Committee.
