Lisa Bandari
Biography
Lisa Bandari was appointed as His Majesty’s Ambassador to Portugal and Cape Verde in January 2024. Previously, she was the Deputy Director for India and HMG India Coordinator from August 2021 to August 2022.
Lisa has served in a number of political and policy roles since joining the UK Diplomatic Service in 2004. She brings experience from several Foreign Office departments as well as overseas postings in Afghanistan and Kenya. Prior to joining the FCO, she worked for an NGO and UK local government.
Lisa studied French and German at Oxford University.

The Ambassador represents His Majesty The King and the UK government in the country to which they are appointed. They are responsible for the direction and work of the Embassy and its Consulates, including political work, trade and investment, press and cultural relations, and consular services.
