Maggie Powell

Biography

Maggie has more than 30 years’ experience in public and non-profit organisations with a focus on health services and international development.

A graduate in German and French, she also holds a Master of Public Health from the University of Sydney. She has lived and worked in Germany, Hong Kong, the Philippines, Australia, the USA and Japan.

In the UK she has worked on several groups in patient and public involvement in research and is current chair of the patient representatives working group at the Royal Marsden and Institute of Cancer Research Biomedical Research Centre.

Maggie is a strong believer in primary and preventive health care, and a breast and bowel cancer programme participant. She wants to ensure screening decisions benefit all groups and members of the public.
