Margaret Ollerenshaw
Biography
Margaret currently works as the HR Director for Travis Perkins, leading the merchanting and specialist businesses from a people perspective ensuring the Group realises its mission of being the leading partner to the Construction industry. Prior to Travis Perkins, Margaret held a global, specialist HR role for Primark, supporting the rapid expansion into the US and Eastern European markets. Additionally, Margaret was part of the turnaround team at the Co-op, bringing it back to profit following its near collapse. Before the Co-op Margaret held senior roles in Royal Mail, focusing on Europe’s largest modernisation programme and preparation for floatation as well as roles in Cable and Wireless and Royal Bank of Scotland Group where Margaret began her career. A Non-Executive Director role in the NHS has also formed part of Margaret’s career highlights.
Whilst working across many different sectors, transformational change has been the golden thread that has linked all her appointments. Margaret has extensive transformational change experience and is recognised for bringing commercial thinking and HR strategies together to maximise performance, having delivered a number of award winning programmes across different sectors which attract, retain and develop staff, significantly reduce costs, and increase organisational capability. Margaret’s passion is frontline colleagues and especially enjoys the challenge of taking colleagues on the transformational journey and helping them reach their full potential.
