Mary Carter
Biography
Mary Carter retired as a KPMG partner in 2008. She is a qualified Solicitor and worked in private practice as a lawyer until 1987.
Between 1987 and 2008 she specialised in and worked as an adviser in relation to executive pay and incentive arrangements - cash and share based, short and long term. This also included related advice on matters such as: as remuneration reviews and total compensation benchmarking; tax, legal and regulatory; financial and accounting; transactions and commercial issues for both listed and unlisted UK and non UK companies in the private sector.
She was a member of a number of HM Revenue & Customs committees of advisers and tax payers, and also a director of the Global Equity Organisation - a not for profit organisation in the United States.
Since retiring she served for 6 years as a member of the Armed Forces Pay Review Body and for five years as a member of the National Assembly of Wales Remuneration Board. She has been a Lay Adviser to the Avon and Somerset Multi-Agency Public Protection Agencies(MAPPA) Strategic Management Board since 2013.
