Biography

Michael became National Director for Inspection Reform in June 2013. Before this he was Director, Schools, leading Ofsted’s work in improving schools by developing inspection policy and frameworks. His previous experience includes:

• specialist in school improvement and local authority inspection
• Regional Director, North West, Ofsted
• a secondary school headteacher in the North of England
