Biography
Professor Dame Nancy Rothwell is a British physiologist who served as president and vice-chancellor of the University of Manchester between 2010 and 2024.
She was non-executive director of AstraZeneca between 2006 and 2015, and was previously co-chair of the Council for Science and Technology. as well as past president of the Royal Society of Biology. Nancy was awarded a damehood for her services to science in 2005.
Deputy Chair, Industrial Strategy Advisory Council
The Deputy Chair of the Industrial Strategy Advisory Council (ISAC) supports the Chair in shaping the strategic direction of the council and deputises for the Chair when necessary.
Their leadership guides the council in providing independent, evidence-based recommendations that directly inform government policy.
