Professor Natalie Armstrong BA, MSc, PhD, SFHEA

Biography

Natalie Armstrong is Professor of Healthcare Improvement Research at the University of Leicester, where she is also Implementation Lead for the NIHR Applied Research Collaboration – East Midlands (ARC-EM). Natalie is experienced in applying social science theory and methods to the area of healthcare implementation and improvement research.

She has a long-standing interest in screening, and has completed and supervised research on cervical, breast, prostate and fetal anomaly screening. She is a co-investigator on 2 NIHR programme grants: the SAFER study of atrial fibrillation screening and the PHAST study looking at the addition of peripheral arterial disease and blood pressure screening to the current abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) screening programme.

Before joining the UKNSC, Natalie was a member of the committee’s adult reference group.
