Neville Hounsome

Biography

Neville worked as an HR Director in public, private and not for profit sectors. This included Norfolk Constabulary, Hyde Housing (a large London housing association) May Gurney plc and McCain Foods GB ltd. As such he successfully developed pay strategies and led pay negotiations in a variety of circumstances.

The interest in remuneration issues continued for Neville as a Non Executive Director for the West Suffolk Hospital Trust and chair of the Remuneration Committee between 2015 and 2018. He then chaired the People Committee as a NED with the East of England Ambulance Service Trust from July 2019 until August 2023, he also serves as an independent member of the Remuneration Committee of HCPC and Chairs appointment panels for Kings College Hospital London.

As well as his NED activities, Neville is an independent HR Consultant and executive coach working as an Associate with a number of sector leading organisations such as LHH and Gatenby Sanderson.

NHSPRB Member

The NHS Pay Review Body (NHSPRB) provides independent recommendations on the remuneration of all staff paid under Agenda for Change (AfC) and employed in the NHS. The NHSPRB’s recommendations apply to all staff in the NHS, with the exception of doctors, dentists and very senior managers. The remit group includes all staff in NHS England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland and accounts for just under 1.5 million NHS staff (headcount). NHSPRB’s annual reports are submitted jointly to the Prime Minister, the Secretary of State for Health, and Ministers of the Scottish Government, the Welsh Assembly Government and the Northern Ireland Executive.
