Niall Mackenzie
Biography
Niall Mackenzie was His Majesty’s Trade Commissioner for North America, based at the British Consulate General in New York, from May 2024 to March 2025. In this role he led a cross-USA and Canada team to deliver new trade and investment opportunities across all economic sectors by helping UK firms export to and enter the market, and support US and Canadian firms to invest into UK.
Niall Mackenzie’s former role was Interim Director General for Domestic and International Markets and Exports in the Department for Business and Trade (DBT) in November 2023.
Before that, he was Director for Consumers and Competition in DBT and Interim Director General, Market Frameworks at the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) from 1 November to 13 December 2021.
