Nick Olley

Biography

Nick Olley was appointed General Counsel at Department for Transport in November 2013.

He was previously a Partner at Burges Salmon LLP, where he led both their Transport Sector Group and Commercial Department.

Since being involved with the privatisation of the UK’s railways in the mid 1990s Nick has worked exclusively with the transport sector. He is one of the country’s most experienced specialist rail industry lawyers, having led large teams advising on franchising, rolling stock procurements and other complex transactions.
