Oliver Harry
Biography
Oliver Harry is the Director for Defence and Security Exports (UKDSE) for the Department for Business and Trade.
Oliver joined the UK Government around 15 years ago and has undertaken a variety of roles in London and overseas, most recently as Deputy Director in UKDSE.
Before this, Oliver completed two operational deployments (including a tour as policy advisor to a Brigade Commander in Helmand province, Afghanistan) and has served as private secretary to the UK’s Minister for Defence Procurement. He has also been seconded to NATO where he was a Deputy Director in the NATO Secretary General’s cabinet.
Before joining the civil service Oliver worked in the private sector. He is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.
Director, UKDSE
The Director, UK Defence and Security Exports (UKDSE) is responsible for:
- helping UK defence, cyber and physical security companies to export products, technology and services
- unlocking high-value and strategic inward investments in these industries across the whole of the UK
