Paul Burstow

Biography

Paul Burstow was Minister of State for Care Services from May 2010 to September 2012. He was elected Liberal Democrat MP for Sutton and Cheam on 1 May 1997.

Education

He was educated at Glastonbury High School for Boys, Carshalton, and South Bank Polytechnic, London.

Career

Paul worked as a buying assistant before becoming a research assistant at the London Borough of Hounslow. He headed the Liberal Democrat’s Local Government Unit until 1997 and served on Sutton Council for 16 years from 1986.

He has held several front bench positions, including Shadow Spokesman for Health, Shadow Minister for London and Shadow Chief Whip. He was Minister of State for Care Services, May 2010 to September 2012.

Personal life

Mr Burstow is married with 3 children.
