Paul Tuohy

Biography

Paul is accountable for Strategy and all aspects of Integrated Waste Management across Nuclear Waste Services. He originally joined the LLWR leadership team in 2021 from the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority.

His background is in commercial leadership roles, including category management, procurement, and contract management within both highly regulated and public sector environments. He has a special interest in how public procurement can enable social value and support the delivery of benefit to local communities.

Paul started his career as a Graduate Chemist in British Nuclear Fuels Ltd, and spent 15 years at Sellafield in a range of technical roles focussed on waste encapsulation and latterly commercial roles. He then spent time with Central Government, working for Crown Commercial Services and HMRC, prior to a return to the nuclear industry in 2020.
