Paula Dixon

Biography

Paula joined the Valuation Office Agency in 1991 as a “Cadet Valuer” working in the York Valuation Office.

In her early career she had numerous roles in different offices, including banding properties for Council Tax and defending these at Valuation Tribunal, undertaking NDR valuations on bulk class properties and negotiating and valuing Inheritance Tax and Capital Gains Tax cases along with Doctors Rent & Rates cases and Red Book Valuations in District Valuer Services (DVS).

Paula gained her Chartered Surveying qualification in 1996 and her Management Diploma in 2010.

Now based in Leeds, most of Paula’s case working life has been spent in DVS together with spells as a Unit Head for Council Tax North, National Unit Head for Statutory Valuations Team and Unit Head for the Customer Service Centres.

Paula led DVS as Deputy Director (SCS1) and had a few short weeks in National Valuation Unit before becoming the VOA Interim Chief Operating Officer at SCS2.

Paula is part of the Government Property Profession and the Operational Delivery Profession, has sat on RICS working groups and is the LGBTQ+ Champion in the VOA.
