Peter Luff

Biography

Peter Luff was Minister for Defence Equipment, Support and Technology from May 2010 to September 2012. He was elected Conservative MP for mid Worcestershire in May 1997 and Worcester in April 1992.

Education

Peter was educated at Windsor Grammar School and Corpus Christi College, Cambridge, where he studied economics.

Political career

In 1997, Peter was appointed chairman of the Commons Agriculture Committee. In 2000, he joined the front bench as an Opposition Whip and served as Assistant Chief Whip from 2002 to 2005. Between 2005 and 2010 he was Chairman of the Business, Innovation and Skills Committee and its predecessors (the Trade and Industry and subsequently Business and Enterprise Committees).

Career outside politics

Before his election to Parliament in 1992 for the Worcester constituency, Peter was company secretary of his family stationery firm and worked at PR companies Lowe Bell and Good Relations.

Personal life

Peter is married with 2 children.
