Biography
Rashmi Shukla joined PHE in January 2013.
Career highlights:
- National Director in the PHE transition team, to support the transfer of public health functions from PCTs to local authorities
- Regional Director of Public Health for the West Midlands
- Co-chair for the Sexual Health Forum with Baroness Joyce Gould
- member of the NIHR Public Health Programme Advisory Board
National Director, Regions and Places
Regional directors ensure the quality, responsiveness and consistency of the services PHE centres provide.
They have an assurance role for emergency planning and response and are responsible for workforce development across the wider public health system.
