Rebecca Terzeon

Biography

Rebecca Terzeon is British High Commissioner to Zambia, having taken up the role in January 2025.

Prior to this, she most recently served as Head of the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office’s West Africa Department, from 2021 to 2024. Since joining the UK civil service in 2001, among other roles she has served as Head of the UK’s Africa Strategy from 2020 to 2021.

Head of Gender Equality for the UK’s Department for International Development from 2015 to 2019, Deputy Head of the UK’s development programme in Somalia from 2011 to 2015 and has also served in Ethiopia and the Democratic Republic of Congo.

British High Commissioner to Zambia

The High Commissioner is the UK government’s representative in a Commonwealth nation. They are responsible for the direction and work of the High Commission and its Deputy High Commissions and/or Consulates, including political work, trade and investment, press and cultural relations, and visa and consular services.
