Richard Cawdron
Biography
Richard started his legal career by training in private practice and joined Gloucestershire County Council to complete his qualification and becoming the Assistant County Solicitor.
He then joined Gloucestershire Constabulary to successfully set up their legal department. He joined the Civil Nuclear Constabulary (CNC) shortly after separation in 2005 to create our legal team. This team has now expanded its portfolio to cover related aspects of corporate governance in the new Directorate.
Richard also holds the post of Senior Information Risk Owner (SIRO) which makes him accountable and responsible for information risk across the CNC.
Richard has a degree in Law (LLB), an MA in Public Services Management and a Masters (LLM) in Employment Law.
Director of Governance, Compliance and Legal Services
The post of Director of Governance, Compliance and Legal Services oversees:

Governance and Assurance including the CNPA committees and Chief’s Management groups as well as Portfolio Assurance for programmes, projects via the Constabulary Change Board

Information Governance including Data Protection, Freedom of Information and associated requirements via the IRG and IGC reporting to the SIRO

Legal Services covering claims and tribunals and professional legal advice
