Richard Childs QPM

Biography

Richard Childs QPM was a police officer between 1973 and 2003 and between then and 2015 he ran his own private consultancy in the policing, security, postal, parking and automotive industries as well as advising on corporate governance and workforce. Formerly a member of the Prison Service Pay Review Body, chair of Lincolnshire Primary Care Trust,  Lincolnshire West Clinical Commissioning Group and a chair of General Dental Council Fitness to Practice panels. He lives in Surrey.

NCARRB Member

Members of the National Crime Agency Remuneration Review Body are responsible for:

  • making recommendations on the pay and allowances of National Crime Agency (NCA) officers designated with operational powers
  • considering written evidence from the Home Office, the NCA, trades unions and other interested parties
  • conducting research on pay and related matters
  • visiting the NCA to meet NCA officers with operational powers and management to gather information and views on pay and related issues

The member of the PRRB is responsible for providing independent advice to the government on pay and conditions for police officers at or below the rank of chief superintendent in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
