Sir Richard Douglas
Biography
Sir Richard Douglas was appointed as a non-executive director at the Department of Health and Social Care in March 2024. He is also chair of board’s Audit and Risk Committee.
Richard’s current roles include:
- chair, South East London Integrated Care System and Board
- advisory role with Incisive Health
- trustee, Place2be, a children’s mental health charity
- trustee, Demelza Hospice Care for Children
He has previously held non-executive director roles with both NHS England and NHS Improvement. Prior to this he was a director general at the Department of Health and has held various roles in the Civil Service that have had a financial focus. Richard held the role of Acting Permanent Secretary at Department of Health for a brief period in 2010.
